Pretty in Pink

Friday 19th October was Pink Friday and staff working for the Refuse and Recycling Department and the Passenger Services team at the Wearside Depot entered into spirit of the day by raising money and awareness for Breast Cancer Care.

The crews get ready for thier show down with Passenger Services.

As well as dressing in some very eye catching outfits that added a great splash of colour in a depot that‘s full of trucks, buses and refuse vehicles, staff made great efforts to raise money. Some of the fund raising activities included raffles for a giant cuddly dog, camping equipment and a competition to guess the number of jelly beans in a large container.

Staff from Passenger Services get their best pink outfits on for Pink Friday.

As a finale to the Pink Friday events, a seven aside football match was arranged at the Power League pitches in Catford. Some lads from the Refuse and Recycling Crews took on staff from Passenger Services. Whilst this blog was hoping for a victory for the Refuse and Recycling Crews, it was the Passenger Services Team that came out as the victors, winning 6 – 4. Congratulations to them.
