There is no need to pre book just turn up on the day.
As a special treat, Robert Alleyne dog behaviourist and star of TV’s Dog Borstal will be attending to judge and hand out prizes. Other judges include The Guardian journalist Zoe Williams and local Councillors Wise & Egan.
So bring your bull breed along and take part in:
Smiliest Staffie 12.30
Waggiest tail 12.50
Childs best friend 13.10
Best biscuit catcher 13.30
Best trick 13.50
Best in show 14.10
Dog agility is often thought of as a sport for Collies and Germans Shepherds, but did you know that bull breeds can be pretty good at it too? Battersea Dogs & Cats Home have organised a special bull breed agility display featuring Squirt the Staffordshire Bull Terrier and an English Bull Terrier. We will also be giving owners the chance to try agility throughout the day, so come along and see what your dog can do.
On a bit of a serious note, dog identification is very important and we recommend that all dogs are micro-chipped to help with reuniting them with their owners should they become lost or stolen. It is also a legal requirement for all dogs to wear a collar and tag engraved with the owners’ details on. To help with this the RSPCA will be there on the day providing free micro-chipping and Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will be doing free tag engraving. You can get a free health check and advice for your dog from the RSPCA.
In order to help to reunite owners with their lost dogs, Lewisham Animal Welfare has started to put all dogs collected as strays on Love Clean London. If you have lost your dog please check on this site to see if we have found it (www.lovecleanlondon.org) and search under the category ‘stray dog’. You should also report it missing to Animal Welfare on 020 8314 2098 and Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. Finally, if you want to show off your Beautiful Bull Breed feel free to post an image using the LoveCleanLondon site and choose the Beautiful Bull Breed category.
Last but not least, please remember that all dogs are to be kept on a lead and under 14’s must be accompanied by an adult’.
