Bulky Reuse

We often get asked as a resident what you can do with bulkier items of waste that can’t fit your rubbish bin. We provide a number of options for residents to deal with these items.

Reuse in the first instance we would much rather the item you have get’s reused if it’s in a good condition. Even if you think anyone couldn’t  possibly want a TV that isn’t flat screen and HD ready, the chances are there are numerous people that do!  There are at least two charitable organisations in Lewisham that will refurbish items for re-sale these are Emmaus and Dage

If neither of these organisations are able to take your items you might want to consider using freecycle, freegive or even ebay.

If your item is in a state of disrepair and can’t be reused there are a couple of options … If you are able to transport the item yourself you can take it to our Reuse and Recycling Centre. The address is Landmann Way, Off Surrey Canal Road, New Cross, London SE14 5RS. Click here for opening hours and details of what we can and can’t accept.

If you can’t get to Landmann Way we also offer a bulky waste collection service which costs £15 to have 3 items removed, to arrange a collection call envirocall on 02083147171.  If you are refurbishing your house and getting rid of a lot of waste you will need to use a licensed waste carrier, details of these can be found here.

Hopefully one of these options will help you deal with your bulky items!
